PRODUCER // DIRECTOR

Ryan Todd began his career working up the ranks as a production assistant, grip, and eventually into the camera department. He began producing and directing his own short films to enter into festivals, many of which received awards. In 2009, he directed a feature film, SENSORED, starring Robert Picardo (The Howling, Star Trek: Voyager, Hail Caesar). That same year, he became producer and director for the YouTube channel and digital comedy brand, SMOSH. At his arrival, the channel had 700,000 subscribers. From 2009–2019, the channel grew to over 25 million subscribers and more than 9.2 billion views, with Ryan directing over one thousand videos including sketches, unscripted series, game shows, music videos, and short films.

In 2019, Ryan took on a leadership role at Smosh under Mythical Ventures, serving as Vice President of Content and helping establish new creative practices after the brand’s acquisition. He then joined 100 Thieves in 2021 as Director of Programming and Development, overseeing content strategy across owned-and-operated channels and guiding creative teams to deliver culturally relevant branded campaigns and unscripted programming.

Most recently, Ryan has served as Senior Creative Producer at Channel (2022–present), where he leads the development and execution of brand campaigns (Aeropostale, Lucky Brand, Nautica, Instagram, TikTok).

 

His work continues to blend Hollywood talent with digital-first strategies, scaling audiences and building impactful campaigns that resonate with global viewers.
